John Mazur, Ex-Irish Star, Joins Tulane Grid Staff NEW ORLEANS, La., June 10 UP.— Tulane University football coach Andy Pil-ney today rounded out his staff with the addition of John Mazur, 24, ex-Notre Dame and professional quarterback; Mazur, of Plymouth, Pa., will report within the next few weeks, athletic director Dick Baumbach said. He will instruct backf ield candidates when pre-season practice opens September 1. Mazur replaces John Rauch, ex-Georgia star, who resigned to return to his alma mater last spring. He understudied Bob Williams for two seasons at Notre Dame and then moved up to first string quarterback as a senior in 1951. After two years service in the Marine Corps, he played with the British Columbia Lions of Vancouver, B. C.
