J. C. Fernandez Sidelined RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, June 10 — Jockey J. C. Fernandez was reported to have been "corked" in the thigh by a passing horse during the running of the sixth race Thursday. Several stitches were required to close the wound and will leave the rider inactive for 10 days or more.
