Ohio Board Directs Bass to Seek Kentucky Reinstatement COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 10.— The State Racing Commission has directed its acting secretary, William J. Cull, to write jockey Billy Bass at River Downs and "request" him to apply for reinstatement to the Kentucky State Racing Commission. In answer to a query from chairman Zol-ton Gombos, attorney Thomas Llloyd, a member of the commission, said the board cannot legally revoke or rescind Bass, license now "without just cause." Bass appeared before the Ohio group in mid-May and received a letter directing the stewards at any Buckeye track at which the Cincinnatian cared to ride, to grant him a license. It was these orders that the stewards at Beulah Park and River Downs were following when they approved a license for Bass. * Since reinstating Bass, the Ohio Commission has received a letter from W. R. Knebelkamp, chairman of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, calling attention to the fact that Bass had been suspended in the Blue Grass State and that he should have applied for reinstatement there instead of in Ohio.
