Reflections By Nelson Dunstan Junes Biggest Day of Racing Is at Hand Nashua, Saratoga Run at Different Tracks Canadians See Queerts Plate at Woodbine NEW YORK, N. Y., June 10.— This is Junes biggest racing week end with the 00,000 Belmont Stakes, 00,000 Californian, 0,000 Balmoral Turf Handicap ana tne ?sd,uuu jjeonara ±ucn-ards at Delaware Park and other stakes of importance though of lesser values. It is also a day of widely scattered three-year-old activities, with Nashua having a "lock" on the Belmont and Saratoga another "lock" on the Leonard Richards. The Belmont can rightly be called one of the greatest races in the world, for in its 86 runnings it has pointed out the divisional champion time and time again., The last eight of nine renewals has gone to a horse who was voted best of his age and some were accorded Horse of the Year honors. It is a race that exploited many great sires. The Belmont Stakes is also the yardstick for measuring three -year-old greatness. Hastings, Commando, Colin, Sweep and Man o* War were all Belmont Stake winners and went on to add to their fame when sent to stud. We could add numerous others to that list.
