HOPE MARIE, was taken" back lacking clear room midway of the turn, raced to the front finding an opening at the head of the stretch and outgamed ELRUSA while drifting out on that rival in final sixteenth. ELRUSA was a forward factor, loomed boldly in the upper stretch, but was forced out by the winner and hung. THORNY showed speed to the stretch and weakened. OCEAN HOP was not a serious threat. MUSICA saved ground improving position in the stretch. PATSY DEAR had no mishap. SQUARE NUMBER was outrun. GANG MOLL was forced to race wide. HEDYS BEST broke poorly. MADCAP MEG stopped badly. PEELER was quickly sent in pursuit of the leaders, rapidly wore down SOME CROWN in the early stretch and won going away. SOME CROWN sprinted into a commanding lead on the turn, offered no resistance to the winner, but remained clearly best of the others. ROVING CAESAR began slowly, was steadied behind horses on the final turn, then came between rivals in the stretch and finished well. ALIBU was a forward factor but could not keep up on the turn. ARDENT ARDAN was steadied settling into stride, responded nicely to easily best the others, but was no match for the winner. SIDE LIGHT began sluggishly and raced very wide. SLUGGER RAY emerged with a slight advantage entering the far turn and gradually drew away from ETERNAL STORM under steady handling. The latter was an alert factor, saved all possible ground and clearly bested the others. STEVEN S. could not keep up rounding the turn, but willingly responded near the end to gain his pfacing. ROMAN MIRAGE closely pressed THE FIXER from the beginning, wrested command in the final stages and just failed to last. THE FIXER raced into a short lead soon, after the start, but could not shake off ROMAN MIRAGE and weakened under punishment. CHATEAU was steadied running up behind the leaders on the inside at the far turn, continued saving ground in the drive, but lacked a rally. BLACK BOUNTY rallied mildly. GOSH was done early. SCANDIA gradually improved position, circled the leaders while challenqinq pn the final turn, then hung. JOHNSON T. closed well with a late rally.
