Sophomores Nashua and High Voltage Given Limbering Workouts for Stakes Belair Colt Goes Easy Nine 4 Furlongs as Filly Displays 1 :253s for Seven Panels AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y.,- June 23 Mr. Fitz limbered up his big guns here at Aqueduct this morning, sending Belair Studs Eastern champion three-year-old Nashua an easy mile and a furlong in 1:56 and giving Wheatley Stables three-year-old champion filly High Voltage seven panels in 1:25. Nashuas next engagement is in the 0,000 added Dwyer Stakes at a mile and a quarter on July 2 and he was not asked for any speed this morning. While it is not considered likely that the Dwyer will be a walk-over, the opposition is hard to find. Possibilities include Mrs. E. Eugenia Bankheads Jabneh, who is now at Delaware Park; Cain Hoy Stables Racing Fool, who has been training well; Breckinridge Longs Westward Ho, who turned in a fair race in the seven-furlong Shevlin and won the Kent Stakes, and Milton Berks stretch-running Pepper- Contitwed on Page Fifty-One ; , , : , , I Nashua and High Voltage Take Limbering Exercises Colt Goes .Easy Nine Furlongs-Filly Romps Seven in 1:25s Continued from Page One mint Kid, who has yet to demonstrate any class. The Dwyer eligibles include such stars as Summer Tan, Dedicate, Saratoga and Traffic Judge, but the first two are riot expected to be ready for this race, while Saratoga was beaten by the filly, -Misty Morn, yesterday and Traffic Judge is in Ohio. i Nashuas fractions were :50, 1:03, six furlongs in 1:15, seven-eighths in 1:28, mile in 1:42 and last eighth in :13 without urging and under the comparatively heavy Bill Mc Cleary. High Voltage, driving winner of last Sat-, urdays Delaware Oaks, is pointing for next Mondays 5,000 added Gazelle Stakes at a mile and a sixteenth. The daughter of Ambiorix has won the Black-Eyed Susan, Coaching Club American Oaks and Delaware Oaks against those"of her own age, but was badly beaten when pitted against older female runners in the Top Flight Handicap. She may again meet Louis Lee Haggin EEs. Hen Party, who raced her to a neck last Saturday, in the Gazelle, which is for sophomore fillies. High Voltages move this morning was highly impressive to work-watchers and indicated that the gray filly is none the worse for her hard race at Delaware. Over at Belmont Park, Greeritree Stables Straight Face, who seems his capable old self again, breezed an easy five fur-" longs in 1:01 as a final prep for Saturdays Edgemere Handicap at a mile and a furlong. The Count Fleet gelding completed his serious preparation with a swift mile in 1:38 on the week end. Mrs. John W. Hanes good English filly, Queens Beeches, who broke badly in her American debut in he Distaff Handicap at Aqueduct, worked from the gate at Belmont this morning n company with Eat and Run and they came out running. Queens Beeches was clocked three furlongs in :35, while Eat and Run required :35. Mrs. George D. Wideners Evening Out, winner of her last at Monmouth Park, skipped an impressive half in :46, while C. V. Whitneys Minnie Moocher, who may oppose High Voltage in the Gazelle, went a clever seven furlongs in. 1:26. Maine Chance Farms- Myrtles Jet, another Gazelle possibility, stepped a good mile in 1:40, with fractions of :48Vand and 1:14. Cain Hoys Fantah, who showed great promise last year, but has yet to make her sophomore debut, stepped a half in :48 on the Belmont training track this morning, suggesting that she is about ready for the races. The daughter of Ambiorix is eligible to the Gazelle.
