Dario Will Auction 60 Head At Paddock Vendue in August PROVIDENCE, R. I., June 23. B. A. Dario, managing director of Lincoln Downs, has scheduled the auction of 60 of his weanlings, yearlings, two-year-olds in training and broodmares. The sales will be held in the Lincoln Downs paddock on August 15 from 10 a.m. until noon. Fasig-Tipton will handle arrangements for the sale, the largest of -its kind in New England in the memory of veteran observers. "Were trying to help build interest in New England racing and breeding," Dario said this afternoon "and we plan to make this auction a yearly affair. Dario phoned Humphrey Finney of Fasig-Tipton recently and that organization will make up a catalogue of the stock to go on the block, which will be ready for distribution shortly. Dario has 90 horses, either on his farm, at Manville, R. I., or stabled at Narragan-sett Park under the supervision of his trainer William LaRue. The mares to be sold are in foal to Darios sires Bull Dandy and Mel Hash. Eddie Mack, director of publicity at the Lincoln, R. I. oval, reports that bleachers will be set up for the sale and other comforts extended to these attending.
