MARK went to the front at once and, although headed by NIMBLE DOLL in the first quarter, caught the latter again on the backstretch to widen nearing the stretch turn and, racing well to the finish, won under alert hand hustling. IN RESERVE was restrained slightly in the first part, moved up nearing the far turn and saved ground in the stretch to become the chief contender, but at no time seriously threatened the winner. NIMBLE DOLL had good early speed, but , was unable to keep pace with MRS. MARK or hold IN RESERVE, but was easily best of the rest. MISS ENERGY broke well and was close enough for a quarter, then dropped back gradually and turned in a below-par effort. COUNTESS ANITA and MAZZA appeared to be outclassed.
