Three Stakes at Centennial Close for Nominations Monday LITTLETON, Colo., June 23. Nominations close here Monday, June 27, for three stakes to be run the first week end of the Centennial Race Tracks 50-day meeting that starts on July 1. Early closing events are: The ,500 Littleton Speed Handicap, at five furlongs, for three-year-olds and upward, to be run Friday, July 1. The ,000-added Brown Palace Hotel Handicap, at six furlongs, for three-year-olds, to be run Saturday, July 2. The ,000-added Centennial Handicap, at six furlongs, for three-year-olds and upward, to be run Monday, July 4. Horsemen also were reminded that the second eligibility payments for the ,000-added Colorado Breeders Stakes, on September 10 fall due Friday, July 1. Seventy-nine Colorado-foaled two-year-olds were nominated for the Breeders Stakes, at five and one-half furlongs. Nominations and eligibility payments should be mailed to racing secretary Bill Milner, Centennial Race Track, P. O. Box 777, Littleton, Colo., postmarked no later than June 27.
