With the momentarily expected arrival of Tile King from Detroit, the prospect field for Saturdays renewal, of the 0,000 Ohio Derby at this Cleveland race track now adds up to 14. A quartet of three-year-olds, who have been racing at ThistleDown, will line up in an attempt to repel 10 invaders who. have shipped here from New York, Michigan, New Jersey, Illinois or Canada. The attraction of course is the estimated 0,000 victors share of the purse and temporary possession of the historic East India cup. The purse is the richest offered in the U. S. this week end. The ThistleDown contingent consists of Harold L., Slinker and Selinsgrove, each a winner of his last start; jtnd the possible surprise starter, Lenny Gale. The outland-ers are: Blazing Count, Blue Lem, Clamor, Goforward, Honeys Alibi, Momus, Styrunner, Tile King, Traffic Judge and Trim Destiny v Arcaro to Ride Traffic Judge Jockey assignments to date are: Eddie Arcaro, making his 1955 Ohio debut, up on the Withers winner, Traffic Judge; Doug Dodson aboard Blazing County; Sammy Williams on Clamor; Lyman Richards on the Canadian Momus; ThistleDowns leading rider, Paul Ward on Harold L.; Eddie Plesa on Slinker; Lester Wickel on Styrunner; Al Widman on Lenny Gale; W. C. Downs will be trying for two added money scores in one week as he will saddle Blazing Count on Saturday. Trainer Vincent , Stott and jockey Lyman Richards checked in from Woodbine and immediately in-r spected Momus. In anticipation of the record-breaking crowd anticipated for the 21st running of Ohios oldest and richest stakes, general manager Louis Pondfield has gone all out to arrange for entertainment. Nine races, including a pair of handicaps in which eligibles for the 5,000 ThistieDown Handicap to be run here on July 9,-have been carded. A twenty-six piece band, the 122nd Army outfit in uniform will play during the , afternoon under the direction of Erwin Walker. As is customary, the Derby field will go postward to the strains of Beautiful j f Ohio. The race will be broadcast from coast-to-coast via the facilities of the Columbia t , Broadcasting Systems radio network. Phil Sutterfield will man the microphone and do the call, with the race due to go on the : air between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m. CDT. At the same time, CBS has arranged to J film the race for use on TV newsreels next week.
