BURCH NOTED ACCOUNTANT Ex-Agent of Federal Government in Income Tax Department Associated With Edward R. Bradley. LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 5. Edward R. Burch, general manager, secretary and treasurer of Hialeah Park race track, who died Saturday in Florida, was a native of Paynes-ville, Mead County, Ky., and for many years was a resident of Kentucky. He was 59 years old and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mayme Scully Burch, one son, Dr. John E. Burch, and four daughters, Dorothy, Kath- ryn, Martina and Helen Burch, all of Coral Gables, Fla. After funeral services Monday morning in Coral Gables the body was put aboard a train due to arrive in Louisville Tuesday night. From Louisville it will be taken to Paynesville for interment with communal services at the grave at 11 oclock Wednesday morning. HEART ATTACK FATAL. Burchs death was due to a heart attack which occurred on Thursday just before time for his departure to fill an appointment in Washington, D. C. For several years, while a resident of Lexington, Burch had been in the federal service as an agent of the income tax prytment and was an expert on tax matters. After he resigned from the federal service he was employed by Col. E. R. Bradley to be his personal accountant and later was sent to New Orleans to assist in the management of Fair Grounds when it was owned by Col. Bradley. After Col. Bradley sold the Fair Grounds he sent Burch to Florida as an accountant for the Miami Jockey Club and he was later made manager, secretary and treasurer. He was considered one of the best men of his profession ever located in Lexington. His . widow is a native of Lexington and their i children were all born here. I . l
