The latter, on the outside throughout, came gamely through the drive and outfinished MOUJIK. The latter saved ground throughout and had no mishaps. BERNARDINE Vf. dropped back in the early running, then made up ground. GOLD SATIN made up ground from a slow beginning. ROMAN MARCUS was never prominent. MERE FROLIC had brief speed. THORNLEA was sent forward on the outside to the lead in the first three-eighths and closed gamely through the stretch, but was no match for the winner. ROCKROMA raced forwardly placed from the start and tired through the drive. GOSTER, well placed throughout, had no mishaps. PRINCE TRAP made up ground. MOMIJI closed with a rush through the final quarter mile. MESSENGER MAID was never prominent. NOTROUBLE quit. BELLEDARE had brief speed. The latter worked way up steadily on the inside from a slow beginning in the first three-quarters, closed with a rush through the final quarter mile and was going gamely at the end. ANCIENT ROME sprinted into the lead, set the pace to the final eighth, then faltered. TEE OFF, well placed throughout, had no mishaps. TRAPLAKE forced the pace to the stretch, then tired. SHICAHRI made up ground from a slow beginning. GOWERLACE had brief speed. BUCHAREST raced venly. COSMIC PRINCE was never prominent. CELESTINO raced forwardly placed in the early running, took command through the back stretch, gave way to the winner when straightened away in the stretch, then came again in the closing strides and just failed to get up. IVORY TIP raced forwardly placed from the start, then tired in the stretch run. SOLID made up ground. KINGS CREST faltered. DIABROOM was never prominent. TRICKYS SON quit.
