DIRECTORS DECLARE DIVIDEND Narragansett to Pay 25 Cents Per Share Oct. 20. Use Track Equipment to Aid Hurricane Sufferers. PAWTUCKET, R. I., Oct.. 5. The directors of Narragansett Racing Association, Inc., at a special meeting held in the clubhouse at Narragansett Park, declared a dividend of 25 cents per share, payable October 20, 1938, to stockholders of record as of the close of business on October 10, 1938. The directors, also unanimously voted to contribute the sum of ,500 to the American Red Cross for the relief of hurricane suf-fererers. It was pointed out at the meeting that in addition to this contribution both of the water tank trucks of Narragansett Park, used for sprinklers, have been used to supply water to storm victims in Wickford, Charles-town, Bristol and Warren since the hurricane and one of the tanks is still being used. These tank trucks have been manned by Narragansett crews. The track ambulance has been similarly used in these areas, also all water coolers at the track have been loaned to the Bristol schools for water for the school children. President Dooley reported that the repairs from the hurricane are going along very rapidly and that the track will be ready for its fall meeting starting October 13, 1938. Morgan Belmont, chairman of the board of directors, presided, and the directors voted unanimously.
