CAN YOU RIDE 100 MILES? Endurance Test in Forest Preserves From Evanston to Orlando Park on October 7, 8 and 9. An endurance test of horses, men and women is planned for October 7, 8 and 9, when approximately fifty men and women take their mounts on a 100-mile journey j through the forest preserves from Evanston to Orlando Park. The ride will be in the nature of an endurance contest. When the ride is over, however, it was pointed out by Wayne Dinsmore, chairman, the judges will be interested only in the condition of "the horses. The healthiest horse will be the winner, even though his rider has to eat off the mantel for the following week. Thehundred-mile ride, the first of its kind in this area, will be sponsored by the Town and Country Equestian Association and the Horse and Mule Association of America, with the forest preserve district co-operating. The jaunt, according to Mr. Dinsmore, is open to any horseman or horsewoman in the Chicago area. Entries must be in by October 1. "You can own, borrow or rent your mount," Mr. Dinsmore said, "but the animal must be in fh-st-class condition or he will not be allowed to start in the contest."
