BRED IN BLUE was steadied along back of the pace while saving ground the entire trip, moved up to supplant REGARDLESS from the lead and had enough left to hold AHRIMAN safe. The latter raced far back until the last three-eighths, then closed a big gap thereafter and was going stoutly at the close. OUR TEDDY, outpaced early, closed an immense gap during the last quarter mile. WELSH LAD dropped back steadily in the run through the back stretch and finished in determined fashion in the closing test. REGARDLESS, in close attendance of the pace established by HABIT, raced to the front when called upon, but flattened out badly when entering the stretch. KRONA raced well for the first half mile. MILLIMETER, restrained for the first half mile, moved up rapidly and held on stubbornly to the end. PARLOR TRICK worked her way up gradually and came with good energy in the stretch drive. GERT B., knocked back at the start and unable to gain racing room early, moved up gamely when securing clear sailing and finished with good courage. WAR CHASE made up some ground. MICHIGAN MISS was steadied along back of the pace, moved up on the inside of the tiring pacemaker reaching the stretch and drew out in the final eighth. TEXAS TONY, unable to keep pace early, began bettering his position during the last three-eighths and held on stubbornly in the closing drive. QUATERNARY, in close pursuit of the pace established by TIME INTERVAL, continued willingly to the close. TIME INTERVAL displayed good speed in pacemaking, then faltered through the last three-sixteenths. USAY, outpaced early, moved up menacingly nearing the stretch run, but was unable to close any appreciable amount of ground during the closing stages. CENSOR, quickest to begin, met determined opposition from LADY INFINITE, was under- punishment repeatedly to maintain his advantage and, holding on stubbornly, had enough in reserve to hold UPSLALA safe. The latter, allowed to settle in her best stride, was not called upon for improved speed until the last five-sixteenths, moved up steadily when called upon and, gaining clear sailing on the inside entering the Stretch, responded gamely and just missed being along in time. LADY INFINITE forced the early pace, . j 1 4. - " but was unable to go along with the-first two under pressure during the last threc-sixteentns. FROZEN MASK raced well for the first half mile. LEARNED was rated off the early pace of SWEEPING FLAME, began improving his position midway of the final turn, moved up fast through the stretch and got up in the final strides. LADFIELD, reserved in pursuit of the pace, moved up to dispute the lead with SWEEPING FLAME and, getting to the front inside the last seventy yards, was unable to cope with the closing bid of the winner. SWEEPING FLAME . was rated along under stout restraint for the first five-eighths, then disposed of EDDIE H. and, battling it out willingly, was not quite good enough. BONNIE BUZZ made up some ground, but was never able to endanger the leaders. EDDIE H. had good early speed, then made a bold bid to go along with the pacemaker, only to falter and pulled up lame. FIRST FLING, reserved for the first half mile, moved up gradually on the inside, saved ground entering the stretch and, wearing down LONG WINDED, just failed to hold on long enough. LONG WINDED had speed from the start, met determined opposition from TRUCKIN during the first half mile, disposed of her, drew clear and only tired during the last sixteenth. BALLAD stumbled at the start and recovered quickly, but was unable to enter into serious contention. TRUCKIN retired steadily during the last three-eighths. Overweight First Fling, 1 pound. SKIPPED, in close quarters rounding the first turn, moved up stoutly in the run through the back stretch and, responding gamely to hard urging, held on determinedly in the stretch drive. SINGING SLAVE lost much ground on the first turn, then moved up gamely, but was unable to close any ground in the closing test. INVEIGLER saved considerable ground on the first turn when moving to the front, drew clear and, rated along under snug restraint, tired in the last five-sixteenths. BRUSTIGERT trailed his field into the back stretch, was outrun until the last three-eighths, then came with a rush through life stretch and got up in the closing strides to wear down HIGH FINANCE. The latter raced to the front soon after the start, was rated along under snug reserve after drawing clear, but was unable to keep pace when challenged. BUGLE CALL was well placed, but tired after; leaving the back stretch. SILENT SHOT was unable to enter contention. GRAND JESTER tired. Scratched 66862 Saidona, 101. Overweight High Finance, 2 pounds.
