RUSH REPAIRS AT SHREVEPORTi I Three Hundred New Stalls Among the Improvements Under Way Hileman Attending to Details. SHREVEPORT, La., Oct. 5. Work on improvements at the Shreveport Fair Grounds track is well under way and will be completed in plenty of time for the opening of the twenty-five day meeting starting October 22. Among the improvements are a new inside rail all around the half-mile course, the construction of 300 new stalls to accommodate the large number of horses expected to take part in the meeting, a new judges stand and an enclosure for members of the exclusive Bridle and Saddle Club. Officials of the track are becoming increasingly optimistic over prospects for thei meeting. Racing devotees in these parts are evincing a genuine interest in the return of the sport and the same can be said of horsemen, who daily are making requests for stalls. Racing secretary Emmett Hileman is on hand and is looking after details attending the opening.
