t HAWTHORNE TURF NOTES f $, August Swenke Is shipping the horses of A. It. Born, Chicago patron, to California Thursday. The consignment will include Silver Sarah, Wee Santa, Whatagal, Florence B. F., Peter F., The Tribesman, Glad Wings, Carbon Copy and Shasta Lark. Swenke acquired the latter for Born in a deal in which he gave Redress and 00 to Mrs. L. Copen-haver. Charles L. Trimble, who has been serving in an official capacity on tracks in Nebraska, arrived here and will serve as timer at Sportsmans Park. Before shipping four other horses owned by C. A. ONeil, Jr., to Narragansett, trainer Jimmy McGee will transfer School Books and Dongy to Douglas Park to be rested. Two additions to the local riding colony Tuesday were George Quackenbush, who came from Beulah Park, and Joe Sylvester, who arrived from Wheeling. H. Schurman registered Vellum, Onwent-Eia, Onslaught and Oakwoods Lad, which he will race here for Adams and Michael. The horses came from Canada. In a private transaction, H. H. Brown sold Eleanor J. to Mulvey and Callahan. J. R. Upton applied the firing irons to Shes Right, the property of P. L. Kelley. The Kelley stable, embracing twelve head, will depart for Narragansett after the close here Saturday. Willie Davis was notified of his appointment as patrol judge for the Sportsmans Park meeting. On Thursday, S. B. Ott will transfer Safe and Sound, All Forlorn, Lucky Clover, Sweep Through, Square and Distillation to Louisville. A. R. Mann is due here Sunday from Fairmount with twelve horses he will race at Sportsmans Park. Robert Ramsey, son of Kirby Ramsey, Kentucky horseman, was a week-end visitor here. He returns to Latonia tonight. A.
