OH FUDGE, a sharp factor from the start and always clear, was kept under a steady hold for a half mile, then tired after taking command, but held DOUBLEFOL safe. The latter forced the early pace under occasional brisk pressure, failed to withstand the winner soon after reaching the stretch, but hung on with determination and, wearing down EYE HIGH, was getting to the winner. EYE HIGH, taken in hand on ,the turn, was under strong pressure after a half mile and began to tire before reaching the last eighth. QUENNA held on well in her good effort. CHIEFS BOY had no mishaps. WHATAGAL closed fast from a slow beginning. CHARMING was held safe. POETIC showed nothing. KOSSE broke slowly. ON A BOY, fractious at the post but away fast, crossed to the inside sharply after reaching the lead on the turn, drew into a clear lead approaching the stretch and, continuing well under energetic riding, held sway thereafter. MARLIE MAY, away slowly and blocked when moving up on the inside, was taken out slightly on the stretch turn and closed in resolute fashion through the stretch, but was held safe. EXPONENT, very rank at the post, began slowly, was badly outrun to the stretch, where, after coming to the outside, he closed with a rush. BEAU THOR, never far back, rallied in the final quarter, but liung in the late stages. FORCED LANDING moved up boldly on the stretch turn, but gave way in the last three-sixteenths. GREY SQUAW finished well. FIRM HAND never threatened. WAZAYATA, away slowly and far out of it for three-quarters, bettered her position rapidly while racing on the outside thereafter and, sustaining the rush "to the end, got up in the last stride. ORBEDLU began to work his way up after a half mile, swerved out slightly after getting to the front in the final eighth and held on gamely, but failed to last. TRY FAIR raced to the lead gradually, swerved under pressure in the last quarter and tired in the late stages, but outstayed ATTAINMENT. The latter, strongly restrained early, moved up gradually on the stretch turn and held on well to the last eighth where she gave way slowly. ON THE GO had no mishaps. OVERSTIMULATE began slowly. HOOK IT, much the best, took command quickly, was under a strong hold after the first quarter, continued well following only a. mild shaking up just inside the final quarter and probably won with something in reserve. CAPTAIN DANGER, away slowly, entered contention with a rush while nicely in hand, stood a drive gamely but did not threaten the winner. THE TRIBESMAN, taken back repeatedly in the early stages, was under urging when he failed to withstand CAPTAIN DANGERS challenge on the stretch turn, but held on with determination in the drive and was wearing down CAPTAIN DANGER. TAXIMAN saved ground much of the race, dropped back on the final turn, but came again on the outside. BABY SIS closed well. ROCKY PRINCE quit. CANTRIP showed nothing. ALPENGLOW, rated along under stout reserve for five-eighths, took command as PETER F. faltered, saved ground in the last five-sixteenths and held on well, but was overmatched. DOUG BRASHEAR remained far back for three-quarters, then rallied only weakly in the stretch and faltered in the late stages, but outstayed SPANIT. MAD MONEY displayed keen speed from the start and, close to the rail for a half mile, swerved out when shaken up in the stretch, maintained his speed in improved fashion and was drawing away slowly at the end. SHINING HEELS, on the outside throughout and also having fine speed, was in hand for a half mile, challenged while being forced wide soon after reaching the stretch and hung on stubbornly to the last fifty yards, where she tired. WOODSAW, strongly restrained for a half mile and on the inside throughout, offered only a mild rally when called upon and tired in the late stages. ELOOTO raced evenly. OPERA STAR had no excuses. MORRIS GRINER, a factor from the start and always on the inside, was under stout restraint for seven-eighths, had much room while working his way up gradually under a hand ride in the stretch and, getting to the front in the last sixteenth, withstood the bid of PRINCE DEREK. The latter, under steady rating for seven-eighths and brought out in the stretch, closed with determination under only mild pressure and was wearing down the winner. MISS PONNE forced the pace under smooth restraint to the final quarter, stood a drive with, good courage, but was not quite good enough. EMIR, well rated, was under strong urging after three-quarters and gave way steadily the last three-sixteenths. STEPAHEAD, reserved off the pace, but receiving a badly judged ride, was prevented from coming to the outside by PRINCE DEREK in the stretch and did not fully recover when clear.
