Kilmer. WENT TO POST 1:37. AT POST 2 minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. LARKAR, away fast and a forward contender in the early running, stole through on the inside on the stretch turn, wore down GAY CASINO and outstayed SANTIAGO. The latter was ridden hard while holding a forward position and rallied to punishment in the final drive. BLAZEAROUND worked her way up on the outside and finished stoutly. JEST ONCE, kept in the first flight, finished gamely while racing in close quarters. GAY CASINO showed nice speed, but failed to stay in the closing drive. DROSERA raced wide all the way. AETHELWOLD outran his field to the first turn, sprinted into a clear lead when straightened into the back stretch, saved ground all the way and held sway to. the close. WAR PERIL was closest to the winner I from the beginning and was under punishment in the last half mile, but failed to threaten. FAIRY DALE, away nicely but lacking early speed, improved position on the outside and was much the best of the others. FRANCO SAXON raced well placed, but was not a threat. MOON HUNTER broke from outside of the stalls, raced forwardly and had no excuses. THRIFT STAMP was never dangerous. The others did not amount to much. RYE BEACH had good speed to race in close attendance of HAPPY KNOT, moved into the lead with a rush when reaching the stretch, then finished nicely in hand in the final stages. PRETTY PET was taken under light reserve in the first three-eighths, responded courageously when placed to a drive and closed gamely. YOUR BUDDY, lacking racing room in the first quarter mile, finished full of run when clear. FAIR COMPANY, forced to race on the outside, came with belated speed in the closing drive. HAPPY KNOT showed much speed while setting the pace, but, failed to hold on when caught. THIRD PARTY was unable to enter contention. TIME SIGNAL lacked racing room early, then closed gamely on the inside. TEDMELIA tired, as did COUNSUELLO. Scratched 65779 Billmar, 107. BENJAM, displaying cood speed after getting to the front, responded with excellent courage when challenged on the turn, saved ground and held on determinedly to withstand HAPPY CODE. HAPPY CODE, under light restraint while forcing the early pace, was placed to intermittent punishment in the last three-sixteenths and was wearing the winner down slowly. LADY MARYLAND, kept within striking distance of the leaders, gained fast in the last five-sixteenths and was racing strongly at the close. BLACK WAVE was hustled hard and closed gamely. DOROTHY ROCK showed a good effort and needs a longer distance. C-NOTE tired after going a half mile. FIFTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. Star Porter, Oct. 18, 1934 1:10 4 115. traded Handicap Class A. ANEROID raced strongly from the start, responded to punishment and finished gamely. SUN EGRET was rated close to the pace, but failed to rally when placed to a hard drive. FINANCE showed good speed all the way and held on well after racing wide when reaching the stretch. GOLD FLAG could not better his position and finished wide. SCABBARD trailed throughout. JUNGO, steadied for the first three-quarters, moved forward readily when put to pressure, overhauled CORNWALLIS when reaching the stretch, withstood a stout drive gamely and outstayed MOONPENNY. The latter, unable to hold a contending position, circled the field to reach contention and reached the winner, but could not gain in the last eighth. CORNWALLIS sprinted into a long lead when straightened in the back stretch and saved ground, but faltered in the last quarter mile. GOLDEN VEIN, starting slower than usual, moved up fast on the last turn and closed gamely while in very tight quarters in the last eighth. The latter, beginning slowly, improved position on the outside and closed strongly in the drive. JOBAKHETA was raced in front, saved ground, but tired in the last quarter. JOLYON, going forwardly early, tired after making a stout bid midway of the final turn. WISPY could not threaten. AMERICA FIRST raced in spots. MOTHEL was never a threat. INACTIVE tired badly. LADOGAN was sent up on the inside at the turn out of the back stretch, but failed to rally. BEACON QUEEN quit badly.
