WEIGHTS FOR CICERO FEATURE Chance Ray and Her Reigh Share Top Honors in Illinois Owners Handicap Next Saturday. CICERO, 111., Oct 5 Never in the eight-year history of the Illinois Owners Handicap at the Hawthorne race track has one Illinois owner scored a double victory. In past years, the unique feature that was inaugurated at the West Side track in 1930 and has been run annually since that time, has gone to eight different residents of the state. Clarence Davison, who sent out Our Count to win last years renewal, may have the strongest hand with his consistent Chance Ray, winner of several stakes at Chicago tracks this year, including the Presidents Trophy at Hawthorne. Chance Ray may go to the post the favorite. Mrs. Emil Denemark is the other owner with a chance for a double. The Denemark silks will be carried by Chasar, Uneasy, or both. Racing secretary Julius Reeders weights for the Illinois Owners Handicap were announced today and reveal that Chance Ray and William Maloneys Her Reigh, winnei of the Great Western Handicap, have been awarded top weights.
