SCHEDULE SEVEN RACES DAILY Plenty of Horses Assured for Coming Cincinnati Session. Harry Alshouse to Take the Place of Joseph A. Murphy, According to Rumors Hodgins Starter. CINCINNATI, Ohio, Oct. 5. With nearly 300 horses on the grounds and stalls reserved for 500 others, the River Downs meeting, which commences Wednesday, October 12, should be well fortified with thoroughbreds. The racing strip is in excellent condition and although several horses this morning sped six furlongs in 1:16 or better, the track has a good cushion and track superintendent J. O. Brown has received several compliments. Brown stated several carloads of thoroughbreds are due to reach the Cincinnati course after the close of the Hawthorne meeting and more than 200 horses would be moved over from Latonia. The early arrivals consisted of stables coming from Detroit and Beulah Park. At the present time every stall is reserved and Brown has warned horsemen not to ship to River Downs until their applications have been approved. The Latonia track will be closed after Tuesday and it will be impossible for horsemen to quarter their charges at that track. MANY IMPROVEMENTS.
