Bold Ruler Works Out Six Furlongs in 1:13% Gallops Out Mile in 1 :43 as Part of Preakness Preparation JAMAICA, L. I.. N. Y.. May 9.— Wheat-ley Stables Bold Ruler, who will probably not be "rated" in his future engagements, including the Preakness, showed abundant speed in his six-furlong trial here this morning. Working with Harmonizing, Bold Ruler stepped six furlongs in 1:13%, with fractions of :13. :24, :35, :47%, 1:00 nad galloped out a mile in 1:43. Harmonizing began to fall back after three furlongs and was clocked seven panels in 1:27. This move was from the gate and Bold Ruler was equipped with blinkers to keep his mind on his work. At the same track, Buchanan Farms Spanish San blew out a handy three furlongs in :35 for tomorrows seventh race in Jamaica. Over at Belmont Park, a couple of probable starters in Saturdays Grey Lag Handicap were given speed trials. King Ranchs Beam Rider went five furlongs in :59 on the main track, with the half mile in :46%. Mrs. Wallace Gilroys Oh Johnny breezed a half in :49%.
