Jockey Willie Curtin Has Had Varied Career as Racerider HAMILTON, Ohio, May 9.— Jockey Willie Curtin, who piloted Jauntstown to victory in the sixth race here yesterday in the most thrilling finish yet seen at this session, has had a varied career as a racerider. He began in the game as a jump rider " under the tutelage of Willie Jones, and rode over brush and hurdles for two years. Uusually it is the other way around. A boy comes on the track, walks hots for a while, and in time, gets to gallop a horse or two, moves on to another establishment as an exercise boy and, if he sticks to it, the day comes when he gets up on a horse and rides in a race on the flat. Curtin reversed the latter. The first time he got to ride in a race, he went over the hurdles. Willie, originally a Bronx, N. Y., boy, now makes his home in New Jersey.
