Snyder Escapes Injury WATERPORD PARK, Chester, W. Va., May 9. — Jockey Joe Snyder escaped serious injury here on Wednesday when his mount Lady Miron fell while leading her field by a length- and a half leaving the five-sixteenths pole. Snyder was thrown under the rail and quick action by the other riders in the race avoided a serious pileup. Snyder credited the Caliente safety helmet he was wearing as saving him from serious injury as Lady Miron kicked him in the head while thrashing on the ground. Snyder received nothing more serious than a badly bruised shoulder and will resume riding in a few days. Veterinarian W. E. Trussell destroyed Lady Miron who had broken her left knee in the fall.
