LARK SUN saved ground while reserved to the last quarter mile, responded readily when set down in the drive and. disposing of the leaders, held MY NIGHT OUT safe. The latter, in hand within striking distance of the leader to the stretch, closed strongly under brisk urging but could not get to the winner, although much the best of the others. MR. BOB W. sore during the post parade and far back to the stretch, finished willingly, but was unable to threaten the top pair. PLACER, hustled into command soon after the start, made the pace until insioe the" stretch, then faltered BR00KW00D, a sharp factor from the start, reached the lead during the stretch run, then weakened. XIPPI PIGEON, well placed from the start, took command after going a half mile, settled in the stretch with a short lead and then increased that advantage when set down in the drive. WHISKAWAVE moved up fast approaching the stretch, finished determinedly but could not reach the winner. KRISTI W. saved ground throughout in a good performance. COLLEGE CHUM lacked early foot but closed fairly well under urging. SHERPA had early speed, then drifted out badly while tiring. FIRST COME was never dangerous and had no mishap.
