HAPPY LAD. displaying good early foot, was never iar from the pace and, slipping through on the inside cf RECLAIM on the stretch turn, took command and slowly incre f;d his margin in the last eighth. RECLAIM moved up on the outside of BEAU CARVEL nearing the stretch ty-n to take over and then swung wide to relinquish the leadership. SNOOZIE responded to urging in the stretch t.id closed some ground but did not threaten the first two. NEXT PAGE was qoing well at the end. LAST AND ONLY was badly outrun to the stretch and then closed ground. BEAU CARVEL tired in the stretch. JIMS WHIM had early speed but stopped badly after going a half mile. CRACK DOWN was not hurried while being rather badly outrun in the first six furlongs, then improved his position gradually when called upon and, getting to the front in the last furlong, won with a fair degree of case. SHELL DIVER trailed early and raced wide while making his run in the stretch but was going ftrongly at the end. BLAZING ROCKET loomed entering the stretch but lacked much finishing strength. MR. HASH was used up setting the pace and tired. "GRANT H. and LAUREL KING were used up chasing MR. HASH. SALLYBOOTS was badly outrun. » Laurel King claimed by Otdehove-Regnave Stable, trainer N. Nickl. LITTLE BOO was in close quarters soon after the start but quickly recovered to reach a contending position and, saving ground in the stretch, wore down TAOS CROSS. The latter was closest to SCAIRT RABBIT in the early running, took a good lead in the stretch but was unable to last. PAYCAR made up considerable ground and was going strongly at the finish. WAR TUCK was always fairly well up. BLUE LICKS failed to threaten seriously and lost ground in the stretch. SCAIRT RAEBIT tired badly.
