Seven Sophomores Test Speed In Hazel Parks Mil ford Purse MRS. ELIZABETH N. GRAHAM American owner will be at Epsom today to see her well regarded Tempest compete in the English Derby. Grosfield Duo of Brother Joss and Rami in Rusty Seen Choice in Mile Race By BUD LYON HAZEL PARK, Mich., June 4. A pair of features, one for two-year-olds, and one for three - year - olds, tops Wednesdays eight-race twilight program and from all indications the card shapes up as one of the best of the current meeting. The Milford purse, at one mile, for three-year-olds, is the nominal feature, going as the sixth event, and has attracted seven well-matched sophomores to vie for the winners share of the ,000 purse. Named overnight for the Milford were P. F. Ternes Larned Boy, Dave Zakoors Fiery Jim, Ed J. Grosfields" Brother Joss and Ramlin Rusty, Luther Sheltons Fibre King, Mitchell Andrews Colonel Art and James Paddocks Palsey. Ramlin Rusty, running-mate with Brother Joss, has won two events this year and also has the benefit of a race over the track, for last week the altered son of Amphitheatre finished fourth in a six-furlong dash against similar company, ,500 claimers. The added quarter mile of tomorrows race should enhance i his chances greatly here for in that -event he was going strongly at the end. Colonel Art comes in for serious consideration here for he won his only start of the meeting, against slightly cheaper for he defeated ,000 company, in clever fashion getting under the line of finish some three and one-half lengths before Fortunes Fool in a three-quarter mile dash. The gelding was acquired at private terms by his present owners following that winning effort and in going against this stiffer opposition tomorrow he will be getting his first chance to win his way out for his new owners. Fibre King has won twice this year at the one mile distance and in his only outing over the track he finished third in a ,500 six-furlong claimer being "some four lengths back of Colonels Image. As in the case of Ramlin Rusty the added distance of tomorrows test should be to his advantage and could well provide the Shel-tons with another purse. The Twigt fifth event of the day and for two-year-olds, has unique conditions i for it is tashioned for juveniles which have won a race and not three. The field is packed with contention for slated to go postward are O. G. Ranchs Grand Suspense, Mrs. A. Bellardis Benedicto, H. S. Nichols Nunzi Nunzi, Dan Logans Nagol, C. Simpsons Miss Telephone, H. J. Wises Abla-Jay, a winner here, Frank Veals Kirks Dandy, and K. Burkharts Hungry Dream.
