GARDEN HAN, reserved just off the pace to the final quarter mile where he was sent up on the outside and wore down KENSINGTON KID in the midstretch. PART INDIAN forced the issue to the midstretch where he could not stay with the top one when he made his belated bid. KENSINGTON KID raced wide while wresting command early, came to the inside when clear and gave way suddenly in the late stages. LONE PINE LAD made up some ground but could not seriously threaten. SET SHOT made the pace under good rating, saved ground and was ridden out to turn back COURTESY BOY. The latter, forwardly placed from the start, raced slightly wide in the late stages and while unable to handle the winner was easily best of-the others. OUR HINES had no apparent excuse in an even effort. TAKE THREE was always outrun. FLEET WAVE was through early. Set Shot claimed by C. Cusmano, trainer S. W. Shapoff. BURNT CHILD gained a narrow advantage early while under energetic handling, saved some ground, lugged in slightly on leaving the backstretch, was straightened away and, in a long drive, just lasted over BABY BRIER. BURNT CHILD survived a claim of foul lodged by the rider of the runner-up horse for alleged interference on leaving the backstretch. BABY BRIER, never far back, was sent up fast along the inside after going a half mile, was forced to steady momentarily when caught in slightly close quarters leaving the backstretch, rallied when clear to close willingly along the inside and narrowly missed. HOMEPLACE found his best stride too late. RIVER GATE was bumped at the start AKBOY was used . up vying for the lead. BEAU CARVEL was always outrun. Scratched 16113 Obnoxious, 110.
