Kentucky Notes AUDUBON PARK, Henderson, Ky., June 4. The formation by the Kentucky division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association of an Audubon Park horsemans committee has been announced by John F. Dugan, secretary-treasurer of that body. Named as chairman is G. M. Johns, with George Baker, Paul Holthuk, 5. H. Carter and R. B. Murray appointed co-members of the body. Jockey Guy Smithson, who-enjoyed considerable success at the Ascot Park meeting, led the hooters here with seven successes at the conclusion of the first week of racing. The Virginia Beach, Va., lad is one up on Charles Billeaud, who boosted his score Saturday with a triple. Jockey Robert Venne, 22-year-old Buffalo, N. Y saddlesmith, arrived on the local scene today after his highly successful Fort Miami campaign where he rode 48 winners. Owner and trainer T. Smith has taken first call on the youngsters services. Trainer Paul Holthus leads the trainers with three successes as the meeting enters into its second week and also is locked in a triple-tie with owners Ralph Keith and Kenneth Parrington for honors in that division with two winners. George Cook has taken over the announcing duties at the local course following his arrival from Beulah Park, where he served as assistant racing secretary,. Jockey Howard Robinson, Charles Town, W. Va., rider and one of the leading hooters at the recent Hamilton, Ohio, meeting, has joined the local riding colony here.
