Jerrys Gem Engages Six In Thistle Feature Sprint Rate Pollock Charge Probable Choice in Bid for Repeat Win By PAT CAUDILL THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, I June 4. O. and R. Pollocks Jerrys Gem, j a galloping winner here on Saturdays program, meets six shifty rivals in tomorrows top event, the Erie News Purse. Carded as the eighth race, the feature is a five and one-half furlongs sprint offering for a purse of ,100 and is designed for four-year-olds and upward entered for claiming prices ranging from ,000 down-to ,500. To be ridden by apprentice Vidal Gua-jardo, who handled him in his latest endeavor, Jerrys Gem should be one of the more strongly favored by the wagering fans but will meet keen competition in such as E. F.
