Statement of Representative Of New York HBPA Division BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 4. A representative of the New York division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association today issued the following statement: "Sol Rutchick, president, and the purse committee of the New York division of the HBPA, met with representatives of the GNYA and reviewed the certain increases that had appeared in the last book at Jamaica. At the time, Rutchick and his committee made a plea -for additional increases, specifically indicating a wish that the minimum purse be increased as much as possible, even if it were necessary to leave the maiden claiming two and three-year-olds up to ,000 in, the ,200 bracket, increasing all other minimums to ,500. "Rutchick has reason to believe he will be successful in the major part of his plea. He and his committee will meet again after the GNYA purse committee has had a chance to analyze the problem."
