Henderson Purse Heads Audubon Midweek Card Rip Luck Faces Nine Opponents, Including Light Ron in Sprint By MEL COHEN AUDUBON PARK, Henderson Ky June 4. The Henderson Purse, fashioned for allowance-grade contenders over five furlongs, is the featured event on Wednesdays program at this spacious half-mile course, just south of Evansville, Ind. The Decoration Day Handicap winner, K. Parringtons Rip Luck, heads the field of nine entrants, of which one falls into the also-eligible list. Rip Luck, a highly consistetn mare who has finished out of the money but twice in her 13 starts this yeai easily trounced a good field in her handicap victory on the holiday. She gets in with four pounds less tomorrow and the shorter distance of the Henderson should pr,ove no deterrent to this honest and steady-going mare. A. L. Birchs Light Ron, an improving seven-year-old daughter of Mr. Canron, appears next best in the overnight considerations. The mare has won three out of her last four starts this season, the last two by decisive margins and is expected to be the pacemaker in the race. The balance of the field is made up of F. M. Ashbys Bulnes Day, weighted at 111; Raspaniti and Lorinos Sonny Mars, 120; J. Kings Pedregal, 117; R. Weeks LynDay, 110; C. L. Reinharts Winter Love, 112; Vanlandinghams Hasty Bee, 106, and N. Tookers Argument, 106, should the latter break in.
