SCARLET, LEAF wore down WINNING WINGS midway the final turn, drew off, then while drifting out the entire stretch run, held off FOXING. The latter moved strongly into the stretch from the outside, was carried out by the winner all through the final sixteenth but could not wear him down. Jockey Richmond claimed foul against the winner, which was allowed SCARLET LEAF was disqualified and placed second with FOXING being placed as the winner. BUCKEYELAND tried to get out i.n?.e,.fi.rsK.tt.,3f.and had 10 be steadied, then drifted out into the stretch and lacked a rally under pressure. WINNING WINGS gave way gradually after surrendering command. GAY STAR, within striking distance had no response to pressure. Overweight Gay Star, 1 pound. NINTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. SHINY KNIGHT finished with good speed when too late. TROPIC WIND loomed a threat from the outside midway on the final turn but had no late response.
