Cahokia Gets Two Mondays To Cover Cancelled Cards CAHOKIA DOWNS, East St. Louis, III., June 4. General manager George Edward Day announced here today that the Illinois Racing Board has advised him that permission has been granted to and accepted by the East St. Louis Jockey Club to operate on two Monday nights, July 8 and 15, to compensate for dates lost earlier in the season. Cahokia Downs scheduled opener, April 27, was canceled due to flood conditions that plagued the southern Illinois area. The May 21 night program was called off after two races had been run, when a burned-out underground cable that plunged the plant into darkness could not be repaired in time to complete the card.
