A claim of foul against the winner by the rider of BRONZE AGE for alleged interference on the final turn and during the stretch run was not allowed. BRONZE AGE raced FINAL POLE into defeat to take command before going a half mile, relinquished the fead to the winner nearing the furlong marker and, though lugging in slightly during the late stages, finished with good courage in a sharp effort. MARSTON MOOR raced evenly through the final furlong without apparent mishap. RUN RIOT lacked the necessary rally. CASH SALE was outrun. LADY ATOM was eliminated when blocked on the far turn. FINAL POLE, much used early, had little left. MY CINDY, fractious at the post, flashed brief speed, then faded. Overweight— Marston Moor, 2 pounds; Jims Whim, 2. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES.
