SPIRIAM soon raced to contention and, saving ground in the stretch, got through on the inside of SUPER SUE in the final sixteenth to win under hand urging. ANN FLYNN was rather slow to get in stride, but came gamely through the stretch and appeared strongest of all at the end. SUPER SUE went to the front early and held on fairly well. LYNN L. might have been dangerous, but for going very wide in the stretch. THEATRICALADY and FEB were outrun all the way. Scratched— 47945 Fullopep, 104. BRASSY was outrun slightly for half the trip, then came strongly on the outside after entering the stretch and, although having some diffculty in heading RUSSELL TS in the last sixteenth, did so to best him in a drive. RUSSELL TS went to the front after going a quarter and held on tenaciously when challenged. TOPPER B. was always well up in a creditable effort. HI SKY finished fairly well. AMPHIBLEN was badly outrun -for half the distance and bore out on the stretch turn but closed fast. BLEU FEATURE was never dangerous. Overweight— Mary Boniface, 4* pounds; Shifty Dora, 2. LUCKEY PETE got through on the inside of HEART FLASH after entering the stretch and, taking a good lead an eighth out, drew away thereafter to be an easy • winner. HEART FLASH went to the front at once and withstood a bid from MIGHTY MOMENT nearing the stretch turn, but was unable to resist the winner and was tiring at the end. SPRING KHAL lacked the early speed to keep up, but was racing well at the finish. MIGHTY MOMENT made a fast move on the outside after leaving the backstretch, then tired in the last furlong. SKY CAPERS went to the front early to set the pace and, continuing courageously after being headed by ANGIE, wore down the latter in the stretch to win drawing out. BEMENESIAN was never far away and came strongly after finding an opening on the inside. ANGIE raced wide early but got to the front on the stretch turn to open up in the stretch, then held on Well. TEE J. H. closed some ground. DREAM PATTERN was close enough throughout, but lacked finishing strength. UNDERGRAD falied to be a serious threat. SCENT was rated not loo far from the pace until the stretch was reached, then responded well to pass TORCH OF WAR and open up a good lead entering the last sixteenth. He was shaken up coming to the end to make victory certain. SMOKE SCREEN lacked early speed and trailed for half the trip, then saved ground on the stretch turn to finish fast and was gaining. PRECIOUS STONE was also badly outrun early and came strongly in the middle of- the track in the last eighth. TUOSIX was always fairly well up in a steady effort. TORCH OF WAR headed DUC DE FER nearing the end of the first quarter, but was unable to draw far away and tired in the stretch. SIR TRIBAL went well for five furlongs. STREAKING was never a threat. NO TRICKS was permitted to remain some distance back of the leaders for the first mile, then came to the outside, to close with a rush and, getting to the front in the final twenty yards, won going away. DONT OREST had good speed from the start and, racing on virtually equal term with SANDY M. for the last seven furlongs, outfinished him. SANDY M. was a good contender throughout.
