Bronze Warrior in Front Throughout DeSpirito Aboard Mori Colorbearer Do Report Runner-up, Head Before Copper Kettle; Next Best Pays 06.40 Straight By PALMER HEAGERTY . Staff Correspondent DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 15. — Eugene Mori, president of Garden State, Hialeah and Tanforan, was prominent in Delaware Park racing this afternoon when his Bronze Warrior scored a front-running victory in the featured Hy-cilla Purse. In second position was S. Dewey Gottliebs Do Report, who was two and one-half lengths behind the winner and a head before Lawrence E. Jones Copper Kettle. Clear, pleasant weather brought out a mid-week throng of aproximately 13,500. Those in the crowd who liked the chances of -Bronze Warrior were rewarded with a 9.40 return after the Greek Warrior four-year-old had completed six furlongs in 1:11 flat under Tony DeSpirito. Moyes to Front Quickly Bronze Warrior lost no time in asserting himself, moving to the front at the start and rapidly establishing a two-length lead in the run down the backstretch. In closest attendance were Sylvester Richs Helian-thus, Mrs. Henry A. Parr HIs Staffordshire and Do Report. Staffordshire took over the runner-up position on the turn and remained in that position until the field straightened out into the stretch, where he was displaced by Do Report. The latter lacked a sufficient rally to menace Bronze Warrior and the Mori colt continued on his merry way, with DeSpirito resorting only to mild encouragement. Copper Kettle, after being well off the early pace, responded to strong urging anand missed by a head to wear down Do Report. William Ewings Gallito finished fourth, followed by Staffordshire and Helianthus. There was a return of 10 in the Daily Double when Stanley Mikells Achilles and Augustus Riggs IV. s Hot Flame accounted for the first two races. Hot Flame was the first of two winners for Ovie Scurlock, who came back in the fourth race to score with Charles Petrillos Next Best. This daughter of Best Seller returned 06.40 to become the longest-priced winner of the current meeting. Adopt Shows Stretch Speed The veteran Adopt, owned by the Win-lochan Stable, turned on one of his familiar stretch rallies to account for the six-furlong third race by a length and a half in 1:114,S. The 1 chance was ridden by Norman -Cox and prevailed over Mrs. Ada B. Eklofs Particolor and John P. Garrigans George W. W., with Blue Stone Farms War Phar just out of the money. The Montchanin Handicap had its third running as the sixth race today and the winner was-Ella K. Brysons Plenary, who covered a mile and a quarter in 2:04% as an 8.40 chance. Edward S. Voss, Jrs. Go A Bit, a ,500 claim from his last start, was beaten a half length while finishing second. Third money went to Frank OKeefes My Truly Fair. Among the "also-rans" in this race was Hoplite, who remains the leader with 36 points, earned through a first and a second in the previous runnings. Another who was far back in the ruck today was Alford, whose 24 points earned through a victory in last weeks running keeps him in third position behind Plenary. The latter was third last week and now has 30 points to his credit.
