Robinsons Reddy Teddy and apprentice Sam Bruscemi both graduated from the maiden ranks. The three-year-old Teddys Comet filly and the young rider negotiated the six furlongs in 1:14 flat over a track officially classified as good, but which is decidedly fast the closer one gets to the outside rail. Overlooked in preference to James Gilchrists Show Bet, which was the 7 to 5 favoriae in the betting, Reddy Teddy rewarded her supporters with a 2.40 mutuel. Jockey Gilbert Roser, a native of Cincinnati, rode two consecutive winners. He was astride H. Allaiers Halcyon Duke in the second race, honoring the City of Paris, Ky„ and in the third race guided C. E. Greens Dr. Jay to victory and withstood a claim of foul to retain his win. Roser completed the second half of the Daily Double, which was worth 15.20 for those who had coupled Halcyon Duke with M. Berlins Sunny Capri, winner of the first race. The latter h£fd the saddle services of Howard Craig, who is the leading rider here and registered his 22nd winner for the first 17 days" of the 44-day meeting.
