Little Bing Has Chance For Overdue Win Today Nicely Spotted in River Downs Top Offering With Eight Rivals By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent RIVER DOWNS, Cincinnati, Ohio, June 15. — Nine ,500 platers make up the feature attraction for Thursdays card, eighteenth day or this 44-day meeting. The group is either four-year-olds or older, and the major portion of the ,500 purse will go to the contestant who journeys the six furlongs the fastest. Comprising this group are M. K. Essigs Little -Bing, Charles Deans Jr. Ireland, W. F. Scotts Validity, Mrs. Glen F. Posts Posts Son, E. and S. Ingels Windy Sam, Mrs. L. R. Benshoffs Head Draftsman, Mrs. G. Proskauers Tippitoes, Rivard and Forrests My Dancer, and Mrs. A. Finlay-sons Whitsuntide. It is a difficult task to determine which of these could be in line for the strongest support in the betting. Little Bing, for one, has displayed a wealth of early foot in each of his races, but stops badly whenever headed. In his most recent endeavor and over a heavy strip while going with ,500 platers he took the top, as usual, but after losing command wound up a rather well-beaten seventh in an eieht-horse field. From all indications the strip should be fast by tomorrow and may be suited to him for a stronger race. Jr. Ireland wound up among the also-rans in his last try, but the company was of the ,000 calibre. He usually turns on a late burst of speed and has* shown a preference to run while as close to that inside rail as he can get. In the Hotel Terrace Plaza Purse the Dispose gelding changed his style considerably, and over the fast strip was on top to well inside the furlong marker. He ultimately wound up third, with W. F. Scotts Sky Jeep and L. Halls Boston Bull taking down the top awards in that order. That was a ,500 claiming affair, and this group may find him a difficult one to whip.
