Invader Tangulia Registers Upset Dr. John Lee came up from Delaware yesterday to saddle Bellow and just missed a score in the fourth race. Hash Weinstein, another invader, had more success. He brought the English -bred Tangulia over from New York for the first turf race of the session and the Prince Chevalier colt won, returning 11.80. . . . Ricardo Montalban, the movie star, had women rushing to the winners circle, following the feature, as he presented a trophy to the victorious interests. Gloria De Haven, who was to accompany him, was a late scratch. . . . When Papa Tony won the third race, it marked the first triumph for owner Paul Cresci of Vineland, N. J. Cresci, whose family .builds truck bodies, was a footbalL star for the University of Pennsylvania some years ago, is now connected with Garden State Park. The colt, named after his father, is trained by Bowes Bond. Jack OKeeffe calls from Cleveland to report enthusiastic response to the first running of the Thistle-Down Marathon, a 0,000 invitation affair over a distance of two miles, scheduled for July 2. Its designed for three-year-olds and up which have started for a claiming price of ,000 or less in 1955, and OKeeffe notes that ThistleDown is trying to invite a couple of horses from every track. Col. W. R. Tayloes Wee Wah is a possibility from Monmouth. . . . Joe Camac, the Jersey horseman, was a press box visitor and reports that his wife, Elsie, broke a bone in her ankle Saturday night. Camac adds that he is awaiting the results of consultation with the insurance companies before deciding whether to shoot her or save her. Brookmeades Gandharva arrived for her engagement in Saturdays 0,000 Regret. Mrs. George D. Wideners Evening Out is due shortly and will be ridden by Sammy Boulmetis, whose triple yesterday made him the leading jockey here. . . . Jim Rafterys daughter, Jeannie, arrived from Miami. . . . And Whitey Danhauer, the agent, was touring the stable area this morning with a huge plaque from the Miami, Fla.f fishing tournament committee, commending him on his sportsmanship and participation in the game conservation program. Seems Whitey hooked a big one last winter, but threw it back because it would* have cost 00 to have it mounted.
