Two Jeffords Fillies Turn In Good Drills Open Sesame, Hibernia Go Mile in 1 :42% for Future Stakes; Subahdar in Breeze DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 15 —Walter M. Jeffords good fillies— Open Sesame and Hibernia — were impressive with one-mile trials during training hours this morning. Open Sesame, in preparation for her engagements in the 5,000-added New Castle and 10,000-added Delaware handicaps, was merely breezing while covering the eight panels in 1:42%, the final quarter of which required :26 flat. Hibernia, moving toward Saturdays 5,000-added Delaware Oaks, was under a bit more energetic handling while accompanying her stable-mate but was able to stay on even terms while assuring herself a starting position in the week end mile and a furlong. Another of trainer Oscar Whites charges, the handsome star, Subahdar, who races in the silks of Mrs. Jeffords, was merely breezed a slow five furlongs. The Alsab gelding, who for some unknown reason was not nominated for the closing-day Sussex Handicap, was timed in 1:05 flat. Among his 1955 accomplishments, Subahdar has victories in the Laurel and Camden handicaps and in his last start was third behind Helioscope and High Gun in the Suburban. Pointing for Christiana Another creditable move on the work tab was that credited to Barclay Stables Pollys Jet, unbeaten in five starts this season. The Polynesian colt, whose last three triumphs were in the National Stallion, Cherry Hill and Juvenile Stakes, was caught in 1:00%, handily, for five furlongs. He shapes up as a solid favorite for next weeks 0,000-added Christiana Stakes. Louis Lee Haggin Tf.s Hen Party and Smart Devil, both of whom are considered certain starters in the Oaks, were given six-furlong trials under trainer Joe Kramers observation. Going along in company, the two were equally impressive while being timed in 1:14, handily, for six furlongs. Returning to the New Castle and Delaware, last two-thirds of the local Distaff Big Three, one of the leading prospects, Mrs. Ada L. Rices Cerise Reine, is scheduled to return to competition Thursday in the J. Caleb Boggs Purse, named for Delawares governor. Others in the six-furlong feature are Peeper, Maid of Flight, Gweny G., Battle Wave and Amzy. Cerise Reine, who accounted for the 1955 Oaks here has trained splendidly for her return and the race figures to serve as an excellent prep for her forthcoming en-" hasnt raced since Bowie, where she was third in the Barbara Frietchie, then returned to win an overnight event.
