Murphy - Traffic Judge May Be One of Mooers Best Meets Nances Lad in Chicagoan Saturday Illinois Breeders Name Regional Officials - WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., June 15.— Clifford Mooers stakes-winning three-year-old Traffic Judge has arrived to keep his engagement in the 0,000 Chicagoan, closing - day feature of the Balmoral session. The son of Alibhai, who defeated Nances Lad in winning the Withers about three weeks ago and was third back of Nashua in the Preakness, made the trip in good condition, and trainer "Woody" Stephens was due to arrive Thursday. Owner Mooers, who has had many horses and many trainers during his turf in Traffic Judge, whose dam, Traffic Court, was a top stake performer a number of years ago. Traffic Judge, who won the Prairie State Stakes over this course last season, will have Native Dancers rider in the saddle in the person of Eric Guerin, who is expected to plane in from New York. The Mooers silks have been been prominent on Chicago tracks for many seasons, and his two-year-old Cherry is regarded as one of the best of her age and sex on the grounds at present. Traffic Judge will again have Nances Lad as an opponent in the Chicagoan, and among the other more prominent sophomores looming as potential threats in the one-mile contest are Trim Destiny, Munchausen, Blue Lem and Make Ready. The latter winner of two races here, had a public workout between races Wednesday.
