Stewards Rulings DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 15. — The board of stewards issued the following ruling here today: "Apprentice Robert Dever is suspended 10 days June 17 through June 26 for rough riding in the seventh race of June 14." RIVER DOWNS, Cincinnati, Ohio, June 14. — The stewards today issued the following rulings: "Ben Venue Laboratories, Inc., chemists for the Ohio State Racing Commission, having reported that a. drug of the nature of procaine was found in a saliva sample taken from the horse Bold Satan, winner of the fifth race on June 9, 1955, trainer Howard L. Ewing and all horses owned or trained by him are hereby suspended. The case is referred to the Ohio State Racings Commission for further consideration. "Under the rules, the purse is forfeited and re-distributed as follows: first money to Florida Belle; second money to Doc M. D., third money, to Secret Impulse and fourth money to Big Ike. "Wagering on the race is in no way affected." "Ben venue laboratories, inc., chemists for the Ohio State Racing Commission,, having reported that a drug of the nature of procaine was found in a saliva sample taken from the horse Swanees Penny, winner of the first race on Saturday* June 11, trainer Arthur Perossier and all horses owned or trained by him are hereby suspended. The case is referred to the Ohio State Racing Commission for further consideration. "Under the rules, the purse is forfeited and redistributed as follows: First money to Sweet Cream; second money to Secret Passion ; third money to Apricot and fourth money to Better Buy. Wagering on the race is in no way affected. "Trainer H. W. Thomas is hereby fined 0 for claiming an incorrect allowance when making an entry." NARRAGANSETT PARK, Pawtuck-et, R. I., June 15. — The stewards issued the following ruling here today: "Jockey Jorge Contreras is suspended 10 days, June 16 to 27 inclusive, for rough riding in the eighth race, June 14." * FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 15. — The stewards here issued the following ruling dated June 11, 1955: "Jockey Edgar Wallace, Jr., is suspended 10 racing nights for careless riding during the running of the ninth race on June 10. Suspension period to commence June 14 and terminate June 25, both dates inclusive." HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., June 15. — The board of stewards Tuesday handed down the following ruling: "For possession and use of a revolver in the stable area at Hollywood Park on June 11, Jack Ulmer, a licensed groom, is suspended for the remainder of the meeting, denied the privileges of the course and his case referred to the California Horse Racing Board."
