SKY CAPERS raced into the lead on the backstretch, drifted out in the final quarter, but under urging was able to maintain the lead. SEPPIE closed steadily while on the outside on the stretch turn and came in between horses in the last furlong. LITTLE CHIC was slow to settle, made up a lot of ground while getting through between horses in the last quarter. RED BUD LANE closed gamely. ALLSPICE was never prominent. IM GONA TO, outrun for the first half mile, closed fast while on the outside of the leaders on the stretch turn and drew out under urging after taking command a sixteenth out. MARCH CROSS moved up strongly in the final quarter while saving ground. QUEEN OF SHEEBA had the lead going to the first turn and set the pace to. midway in the stretch, then gave way. CUT A CROSS improved his position while saving ground. BEAU AMOUR raced wide on the first turn and had trouble keeping in on the other turns. WAR TIME gave an even performance. M., never far off the leaders, moved up strongly between horses entering the stretch contacted HELIOSCOPE JR. lightly several times through the stretch but didnt appear to bother him and drew out strongly in the final strides. HELIOSCOPE JR. moved up on the inside to get the lead early, came out slightly in the last furlong and never lost stride. LEFTY LAMAR worked his way up on the inside in the last quarter. The latter, far back for the first three-quarters mile, closed a wide gap while slipping through on the inside rounding the stretch turn and was closing on the winner at the end. MISS TRUETT forged to the front after going to the outside on the far turn and weakened in the final sixteenth. SHRUG, slow to settle, made up ground steadily on the outside. KNIGHTS REWARD tired.
