Elmer F. Polzin Sr. Dies Elmer F. Polzin Sr., 70, father of Elmer Polzin, racing handicapper and writer for the Chicago American, died in Community Memorial Hospital in La Grange early Thursday. Mr. Polzin, a real estate broker, had been ill 10 weeks. Surviving in addition to his son are the widow, Vera Stark Polzin; a brother, Earl, and two grandchildren, David James and Christian Allen. The body is at the funeral home at 40 S. Ashland, La Grange.
