Edward T. Dickinson Elected Assistant to NYRAs Hanes NEW YORK, May 14. Edward T. Dickinson, former commissioner of Commerce of New York State, has been elected vice-president and assistant to President John W. Hanes of the New York Racing Association, it has been announced by the NYRA board of trustees. Dickinson, 48, served as New York Commissioner of Commerce for four years until last December 31. A graduate of Yale University, he has held several high positions in industry and civic organizations. Dickinson is presently a director and member of the executive committee of the New York Business Development Corporation. He is a former executive of the Carrier Corporation of Syracuse, N. Y., and of the United States Steel Corporation. In addition, he has, served as a trustee of Cornell University, chairman of the National Security Resources Board and an alternate member of the National Security Council. During World War H, he served in the United States Marine Corps, assigned to the office of strategic services in Western Europe.
