Junior League Stakes Draws Eleven Fillies Tight Nit, La Comedienne Rated Best of Hollywood Park Field By W. A. WILLIG Staff Correspondent HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., May 14. Don Brokaws Tight Nit and Mrs. Charles Whittinghams La Comedienne, both stakes" winners this spring at Tan-foran, are among 11 fast two-year-old fillies, all bred in California, scheduled to meet in the 7,650 Junior League Stakes which will feature Fridays program at Hollywood Park. The nine others awaiting the 5 furlongs test, which is the first of a number of added money events Hollywood Park has scheduled for the juvenile division this summer, are Mr. and Mrs. Lon Copenhav-ers Teresita, Mrs. John Hills Novicia, Mrs. John VBullis Dove Gun, Mrs. Ray Bells Pacifico, J. K. Houssels Bridal Bond, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Johnstons Darling June, H. Hultbergs Svalan, E..M. Goemans Royul-lah and Mrs. Dorothy Roberts Ladys Up. Most of those in the Junior League have demonstrated themselves to be fillies of promise and Tight Nit and La Comedienne have especially impressed observers. Tight Nit, unbeaten in her only two starts, gave the latest show of her quality when she beat a field of masculine rivals in Tan-forays San Bruno Stakes. In that 5 furlongs dash she took command a few strides out of the gate and was never -headed. Counterate was second and Orbits Top third. Tight Nit scored her maiden victory at Tanforan at the same distance by defeating Edward J. with more than six lengths to spare end.
