Linthicum, Baltimore Sports Editor, Succumbs at Age 67 BALTIMORE, May 14. Jesse A. Linthicum, 67, sports editor of the Baltimore Sun for 30 years, died here Tuesday. Linthicum was named sports editor of the Sun in 1925. He worked on the city-end telegraph desks of that newspaper from 1927 to 1929, then returned to the sports department. He attended the Baltimore Orioles opening game of the baseball season here for 33 consecutive years. Recently, he was named chairman of the board of the Baltimore Colts Foundation, a charitable and educational organization. The Colts are champions of the National Professional Football League. Several years ago, a thoroughbred colt named for Mr. Linthicum was a steady performer at Maryland race tracks.
