Search Is On in Cleveland Area for Miss ThistleDown CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 14. Twenty local radio and television personalities in the Cleveland area are in search of Miss ThistleDown, the highly successful promotion of the suburban Cleveland track which opens its 44-day meeting on May 27. This is the fourth annual beauty contest that is judged by the radio-television editors of the local papers. , Each radio and television announcer requests, pictures for the girl to represent him in the finals to be held1 on Sunday, May 22. The girl named Miss ThistleDown will win a cultured pearl necklace, luggage, cruise for two and beauty parlor treatment. To the announcer who sponsors the winning girl, goes an RCA Victor color television. There are lesser prizes for all finalists in disc jockies. Those participating are Ronnie Barrett, KYW-TV; Bill Gordon, Norman Wain, WEWS-TV; Big Wilson, Joe Finan, Specs Howard, Dick Reynolds, Wally King, KYW; Hal Morgan, WGAR; Johnny Holiday, Bob Irwin, Johnny Walters, Pete Myers, Tom Brown, WHK; Ernie Simon, Carl Reece, WERE; Bob Forester, Paul Otis, Paul Dean, WJW; and Walt Henrich, WDOK. The winner will be seen on television and heard on radio, and will be on hand for the ThistleDown opening on May 27. She will also officiate at the Silver 25th running of the Ohio Derby on June 20.
