DOREENS PLAY reached the lead leaving the backstretch, opened a clear advantage and lasted over ANNVILLE while drifting out. The latter, forced to steady when pinched back leaving the half-mile pole, moved boldly on the turn to reach contention and was rapidly wearing down the winner STAR SPANGLE was well placed and tired. SOUTHERN POMP rallied belatedly. CONVERTED saved ground while rallying. PURPLE HAZE had "speed to the stretch. FAULTY gave a dull effort. JOUETT S. drove through a!o.ng the inside to reach- the lead turning into the stretch and just lasted over APPLE DUMPLING while drifting out slightly. APPLE DUMPLING saved ground while racing into contention and j"ust missed in a good effort. ANGARETH responded willingly to pressure but could not get up in time. ANGRY MOOD reached almost even terms for the lead and faltered in the drive. GALA BOMB, off slowly, failed to reach contention. MR. HARRISON, in front early had to be taken up sharply leaving the turn when JOUETT S. came out slightly forcing him over on ANRGY MOOD. Scratched Slam On, 2270GS Justified II., 2257GS Kinda Clever. P. assumed the runnerup spot at once, was repulsed when challenging three furlongs out and was gradually wearing down the winner in the late stages. FEDERAL JUDGE lacked a sufficient response.
